Dear Friends & Colleagues,

In this issue of Passages from India as we travel to the high altitude region of Ladakh in the northern state of Jammu & Kashmir, I would like to take this opportunity to highlight the fact that India is a year round destination, with different part of the country to be visited at specific times. The snows covering the high passes and roads melt by spring, opening up the possibilities of one of the most spectacular road journeys in the world into Ladakh from mid May to end September. However the region is accessible throughout the year with commercial flights operating into the capital city of Leh, situated at 11,000ft above sea level.

Leh is situated in the valley of the river Indus encircled by stark awe-inspiring mountains with the cold desert beyond, it is the nearest experience to Tibet in India. Explore city and its environs with its predominant Buddhist culture and interact with the warm and friendly people. The Palace looms over the city, like a turret of an anthill. Enjoy a hot bowl of local "thukpa" soup or be the personal guests of the royal family at Stok Palace or watch the elaborately costumed and masked lamas of the Hemis Monastery dance and celebrate the victory of good over evil.

These are just a few aspects covered in and around Leh….there is so much more this region has to offer. Be it natural beauty, culture, wildlife, trekking or driving holidays. There is no other place so magical, so awesome and so spectacular!

Come book your passage to Ladakh, only with Le Passage to India.

With warm regards

The partners for the event, slated on 04 – 05 Jun, were increased to enhance the scope and projections as for the first time, the event was to be held in the Mall’s Central Atrium, which is prime marketing space. >>MORE
