Dear Friends & Colleagues,

Summers are moments of contradictions in India. As the suns rays inch closer to the Tropic of Capricorn, the northern plains bear the brunt of the scorching heat. It is a moment when the trees run riot in a blaze of the most startling colours of red and yellow and the so dearly beloved fruit of kings and paupers alike, the Mango, is ready for harvest right across the subcontinent. June is the peak time when the best of varieties are ready to be devoured. Mango mania is a yearly highlight in the life of India!

Passages from India dedicates this issue to the Mango truly symbolizing a "Taste of India"! As India celebrates the season of the mango, we share its story, a destination to be visited to enjoy one of its succulent flavours, a festival, myths, legends and spiritual significance of this ambrosia!

Come share a summer passage only with Le passage to India.

Warm regards

Shaping Lives Organises Volunteerism for Purequest Group in India
When Ms Poonam Bagai, Founder, NGO Cankids …Kidscan, India, walked in for her address to the motley UK Peace Hospice volunteer group on a hot Sunday May afternoon, her heart sank a bit. They were brought in by Shaping Lives, in partnership with our premium adventure travel business unit, PUREQUEST, on a 3 day painting volunteering, and none of them was a professional or even acknowledged an artistic trait. She left it to God and GM, Shaping Lives, to achieve whatever little this group, ranging in age from 23 to 75 year old grannies could in the sweltering May heat of Delhi. Mr Chris Williams, her support and senior colleague, and himself from England, had only one advice, ‘do not strain yourself and catch a heat-stroke’. >>MORE
