Dear Friends & Colleagues,

This issue Passages from India continues its journey through the North Eastern Himalayan state of Sikkim. Continuing our journey from Darjeeling with the mighty Kanchenjunga towering above snow peaks to this mystical kingdom where you can literally walk in the clouds, visiting Lachung & Yumthang in North, Pelling in the West and the state capital of Gangtok in the East. At this time of the year forests with varieties of rhododendrons and orchids are in full bloom as Sikkim, literally the garden state of India plays hosts to the International Flower & Rhododendron Festival. In Western Sikkim , with stay at the Chumbi Mountain Retreat and as you travel off beaten tracks , visiting Buddhist sites, ancient ruins, jewel like lakes. Sampling Tibetian and Nepalese cuisines, we highlight the momos, literally a national dish "snack" across India! View the rarest of all the endangered "red panda” at the Zoological Park in the state capital of Gangtok!

Combined with a visit to Kolkata and Kaziranga in Assam, a visit to Sikkim truly opens a fresh vista for travel to the sub continent. Only with Le Passage to India!

Warm regards
